Hot Wheels diecasts are often a person’s first-ever touchpoint with car culture, talismans serving as a tangible connection between childhood and a person’s dreams for the future. As one of parent company Mattel’s fastest-growing brands, Hot Wheels has a big impact on the kids (and adults) who play with and collect its products.

Recognizing the influence and reach of its toys, Hot Wheels launched its Challenge Accepted campaign aimed at celebrating “the challenger spirit and the mindset that drives people to take risks, defy expectations, and chase their passions.” What exactly does this mean? To start, Hot Wheels tapped the likes of entrepreneurs, musicians, and athletes to serve as role models on behalf of the brand. It’s also taking the opportunity to sell some premium diecast cars that enthusiasts are sure to seek out.

Success and overcoming adversity is at the core of the Hot Wheels campaign, and as such it turned to individuals with uplifting stories to spearhead the brand initiative.

Alex Hirschi, better known as Supercar Blondie, should be most familiar to MotorTrend readers. The Dubai-based businesswoman and online personality got her start on the Dubai Eye 10.8 talk show before transitioning to creating automotive content online.

Hot Wheels turned Hirschi’s first supercar, a Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4 she calls “Lucy” into a premium diecast model as part of the 2026 Hot Wheels Global Legends Collection. The model has a blue and black floral pattern just like the hand-painted design on Supercar Blondie’s own Lambo.

“Growing up, I knew one day I wanted to own a supercar, and I had no idea how I was going to achieve that,” Hirsch said. “Finding out that driving supercars and filming supercars would lead me to buy one is quite bizarre; I worked nonstop traveling around the world 300 days a year trying to find the coolest cars in the world and after three years of doing this, I could finally afford my own supercar, and that was a big deal for me.” Ultimately, she chose the Huracán for its sound and relative ease of use as a daily driver due to its conventional doors.

Next up is rapper, singer, and songwriter Maluma. The Colombian artist signed with Sony Music at age 16 and broke into the mainstream by 2015. Hot Wheels represents Maluma in the collection with a Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 (called La Matrona, or “the Mother” in Spanish) with custom graphics and details that make it look like the 1:64-scale SUV just went on an off-road adventure.

“This car represents my family, or the stage [of life] that I’m living right now. I’m about to have a baby boy in a couple weeks,” Maluma said. “Even though I love supercars and I actually own a couple of them, in the moment of life I’m living right now I really feel like [the Land Cruiser] is the kind of car that I really want to drive.”

Finally, Polish soccer star Robert Lewandowski is represented by a 1997 Porsche 911 GT1, which Hot Wheels says “reflects the precision, performance, and relentless pursuit of excellence that have defined his career at the highest level of the sport.” Lewandowski himself owns a Guards Red Porsche 911 Speedster with the Heritage Design package.

“Because I am from Poland, we have the national colors,” Lewandowski said. “When we started to design the car and when I started to think about what I would like to have as a Hot Wheels, I thought back to when I was young and when I was dreaming to get this kind of car.”
