Ever since the Tesla Cybertruck went on sale, its design has been one of the biggest talking points surrounding the all-electric pickup. The angular stainless-steel body is hard to mistake for anything else on the road. Most Cybertrucks also tend to look more or less the same, with that bare-metal finish doing most of the visual work.
One Cybertruck in the U.S. has taken a very different route. Its exterior is covered in the colorful artwork associated with India’s decorated commercial trucks, complete with traditional motifs and the familiar Indian phrase borrowed from a Hindi soap opera, “Dekho Magar Pyar Se”, which translates to “Look, but with love”, essentially boiling down to “Don’t be jealous.” This isn’t just someone’s personal attempt at making a Cybertruck stand out. The vehicle is being used for weddings, baraats, photo shoots and other events.
The Cybertruck Gets A Very Different Identity

The custom pickup takes its cues from traditional desi Indian truck art, with bright patterns and decorative motifs spread across the exterior. Peacocks, elephants and lotus flowers feature in the artwork, while “Dekho Magar Pyar Se” is one of the most noticeable details.

It is a pretty dramatic departure from the way Tesla normally presents the Cybertruck. The standard pickup gets its visual character from its sharp bodywork and stainless-steel finish. Here, the body panels are effectively the canvas. The Cybertruck’s shape hasn’t gone anywhere, though. The angular body, high beltline and unusual proportions are all still there. The artwork simply gives them a completely different setting.
It Was Created For The U.S. Event Scene
The Cybertruck is operated by My Desi Truck, which offers it for events around Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia. It can be booked for baraats, weddings, photo shoots, music videos and other productions. For a baraat, the idea is fairly straightforward: instead of arriving in a conventional wedding vehicle, the groom’s procession can have a brightly decorated Cybertruck leading the way. The company also offers the vehicle as a stationary attraction for events where it can be used for photographs.
There are several packages available. A stationary display starts at $600, while a four-hour baraat package starts at $1,200. Customers can also opt for a package with a DJ and sound system, which starts at $2,200. The company says bookings for the custom-wrapped Tesla pickup truck can also be arranged outside its main Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia service area.
The Cybertruck Can Handle Some Of The Hardware
The Cybertruck isn’t only there to look the part. My Desi Truck says its onboard power outlets can run the sound and lighting equipment used for events, removing the need for a separate generator. That comes in handy when the truck is being used as part of a moving procession, but it also gives it a role once it reaches the venue. The company offers a DJ setup for customers who want to bring their own DJ, as well as an option that includes a professional DJ and sound system. So the Cybertruck can arrive as the attraction and provide some of the equipment needed to make the attraction work.
Indian Truck Art Meets The Cybertruck
Putting Indian truck art on a Cybertruck works partly because the two styles are so different. Decorated Indian trucks are usually practical working vehicles that have been given plenty of personality through paint, lettering, patterns and religious or cultural motifs. The Cybertruck, meanwhile, was designed around a stark, almost industrial-looking exterior.
Covering that body in bright artwork changes the effect completely. The large, flat surfaces also happen to give the decoration plenty of room to breathe. It doesn’t make the Cybertruck look like an Indian truck in the conventional sense. The shape gives the game away immediately. What it does is take a familiar visual tradition and put it on one of the least conventional pickups sold in America.

The company describes the vehicle as a hand-finished, desi truck-art-wrapped Cybertruck and offers it as part of its event, transportation and entertainment services. That is what makes this more interesting than a Cybertruck owner getting bored with the factory finish. The artwork has effectively become part of the service. And if the goal is to make a memorable entrance at a baraat, a brightly decorated Cybertruck with “Dekho Magar Pyar Se” written across it is certainly one way to do it.
